Moses Njoki PMHNP-BC, FNP-C

Moses Njoki is a dual Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He offers a wide range of experience in providing effective, evidence-based psychiatric and medical treatment across the lifespan. His expertise in psychotherapy, psychiatric evaluation, psychotropic medication management, addiction medicine treatment, and weight loss management is vast. His areas of mental health focus include but are not limited to ADHD, ADD, OCD, bipolar disorders, anxiety, depression, PTSD/Trauma, sleep disorders, panic disorders, and many others. Additionally, he specializes in substance abuse treatment, including alcohol dependence.

Moses attained his Maryland High School Diploma from Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) in September 2006. He then proceeded to Harford Community College, where he graduated with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Cum Laude, in May 2012. His dedication, motivation, and inspiration to provide effective nursing care to the community led him to pursue further education. He graduated from Coppin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Cum Laude, in May 2014.

Moses’s commitment to delivering effective, evidence-based nursing interventions to the community inspired him to continue his academic journey. He earned a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) specialization from Coppin State University in May 2018. After encountering mental health patients in need of effective treatment during his practice, he pursued further education in psychiatry and mental health. Moses graduated from Walden University in February 2024 with a Post-Master’s Nursing Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), Cum Laude.

Moses’s clinical experience includes working in various inpatient and outpatient healthcare settings, including correctional centers, addiction medicine, and primary care. With a holistic approach to patient care, he is committed to combating the stigma surrounding mental health disorders. He provides compassionate, patient-centered treatment using evidence-based practices to foster community mental health and well-being.

Focusing on mental health well-being, Moses pays close attention to patients’ clinical presentation, symptomatology, body language, and mental health assessment evaluation tools to determine the most effective treatment modalities, including psychotherapy. His clinical expertise and wide range of experience drive the goal of achieving mental wellness for individuals.

Moses emphasizes the importance of developing a good rapport with patients and providing a compassionate, safe, and comfortable environment for them to express their mental health challenges openly. This fosters appropriate therapeutic treatment. He strives to treat all patients equally, regardless of ethnic background, race, gender identity, political/religious affiliation, or socioeconomic status.

Fostering hope, offering inspirational/motivational dialogue, empowering patients, remaining non-judgmental, and expressing understanding through attentive listening will create a strong mental health connection with patients.
